Smoothie Recipes

A few years ago I decided that I wanted to start drinking green smoothies everyday.  I also decided that they had to actually taste good or it wouldn’t stick!  Here are the 2 smoothie recipes that I alternate.

GREEN SMOOTHIE

Blender packed full of spinach

2 cups water

Blend together and add….

1 banana

2 cups frozen mangos

2 cups frozen pineapple

 

PURPLE SMOOTHIE

Blender packed full of spinach

1 cup water

1 orange

Blend together and add….

1 banana

2 cups frozen strawberries

2 cups frozen blueberries

I’m sure there are better ones out there.  There is definitely more variety.  But having two recipes makes it really easy to make these everyday.  I always know what ingredients I need to have on hand, I never have to look at a recipe, and I always know they will taste good.  And believe me when I say they do.  Drinking these consistently for so long has really helped me.  I have less cravings for treats, my energy stays up, my iron is at a great level despite not eating meat, and my body functions better.  Getting my body in a great place allows me to work more on getting my mind in a great place.
